Bucu Family

I was updating my weather app incessantly in the days leading up to this and 3 other shoots. Everything looked good even the morning of the sessions, but even though the weather report said it wasn't raining... it totally was. The Bucu Family was my first session of the day and they were awesome despite the sprinkles and the fact that they have a tiny little adorable baby.

 

Sly | It's My Birthday!

Sly and I sing together for our church choir (she's an amazing singer) along with Liz (another amazing singer and photographer). While at rehearsal a few weeks ago, Sly talked about wanting to take some photos for her birthday this year. Liz immediately set something up right then and there. When talking about the look we wanted for the shoot, Liz suggested the location I used for a recent maternity shoot. Sly loved the idea... so we went for it. As luck would have it, a few days before our shoot I picked up my nephew and his girlfriend in Little Tokyo not far from our shooting location, and I stumbled upon this amazing wall that I thought would work for this shoot. We started out at a bridge in Glendale that Liz had scouted, and moved on to the radtastic wall and old firehouse. I had a blast! Thank you Sly and Liz for such a fun and fabulous shoot!!

Yoko and David | Engaged

This was my first time taking photos at the pier in Santa Monica. When I set out for the day I was excited for what was in store. Yoko and I went to grad school together and I still remember the first conversations we had about David when she first met him. It is so wonderful to see these two together! We chose Santa Monica Pier as our location because it's actually where they were engaged. We walked along the pier together as David and Yoko recounted the engagement story. Liz of Liz Barlak Photography came along with me on this shoot and helped out tremendously. Thanks Liz! And... Congratulations Yoko and David!! Your wedding day is coming up soon!
